Concert Choir

Directed by YVI founder and artistic director Marian Bender, the Concert Choir, our largest group, involves children in grades 5-9. Fundamental elements of this group include community service work, partnerships with charities and performance opportunities throughout the area. Concert Choir members also enjoy touring nationally and internationally once a year. Currently the Concert Choir meets Thursday evenings from 5:45 - 7:15 PM at St. Richard’s School. Encore Singers

Formed in 2006, YVI Encore Singers is a small, select group of talented high school girls. This unique choral ensemble sings throughout the Indianapolis community and focuses on community service work and performance. These young women enjoy singing a variety of music and rehearse Thursday afternoons from 4:15 - 5:30 PM at St. Richard’s School. The Encore Singers participate also have the opportunity to participate in the yearly choir tour. For audition information, please call 317.926.0425 Ext. 302.

Preparatory Choir

Directed by Hilary Heisman-Updike, the Preparatory Choir is a non-auditioned group open to children in grades 2-5 that focuses on helping children learn the basics of music. This choir incorporates music and movement, rhythm and music reading, and the basics of performance etiquette to prepare them for Concert choir. Preparatory Choir sings at the YVI Christmas and Spring Concerts and performs locally. This choir meets Tuesdays at St. Richard’s School from 4:15 - 5:15 PM.

Cherub Choir

The Cherub Choir is our newest non-auditioned choir. This choir focuses on introducing the joy of music to our youngest members! The Cherub Choir meets at St. Richard’s School Wednesday’s from 4:15 - 5:00 PM in the Lower Division music room.

Parent and Alumni Choir

This fun and energetic group consists of parents and Young Voices alumni. The choir rehearses minimally and performs at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. Currently, the choir meets on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 7:45 PM twice a month.
